BlackJack and the many versions

Updated: Nov 26, 2019

In line with the massive development of the internet and of the online casino industry, there is today a record number of different kinds of BlackJack versions. It's not unusual for you to find on the same casino side up to 4-5 different versions of BlackJack, except for the original.

Of course there are the classic types of players that only want to play the original, since it is what they always have done, both online and in the physical casinos. They are fine with the pace and that a round follows the classic concept of actions, decisions and so on. But the new generation of online casino players is usually looking for some more action. For them, efforts are often not enough, they want the opportunity to make parallel efforts on a continuous basis, and that is also the fact that the new versions of BlackJack are based in.

You can compare it a bit with the live-odds, which also has become incredibly popular among the new generation of online casino players because it offers them something action right here and right now, while they have some classic bets running.

Many different versions

A few of the most popular founders of the original are the variant "Over / Under 13”, ”Red / Black”and "Royal Match".

Over / below 13 the players give the opportunity to make a parallel bet. You can ask whether the hand of your original 2 card exceeded the Figure 13.By comparison, Black / Red acts to guess what color the dealer's original face up card is going to have. And in Royal Match, it's about betting on whether the player's original 2 card hand is going to have a matching suit. What is common to the above 3 variants is that they all offer the player some extra action, and that is an action that is being decided right now.

Other versions, other rules

In addition to BlackJack games that offer parallel stakes, there are also variations that change the rules much more. One example of this is the variants ”BlackJack Switch” and ”BlackJack Double Exposure”.

The BlackJack Switch changes the rules in the sense that each player must have 2 hands at once, and even the other card has to be exchanged if you think it is advantageous for the hand.Double Exposure is that the dealer's otherwise closed first card is no longer closed, it is instead turned face-up on the table, and it is something that brings a totally different set of strategies and probabilities of the games, compared with if the card was closed. So there is no doubt that, over time, BlackJack has become much more than the classic game, as it has always been. And as can be seen, it is common for all the variants, that they all together offer more action in the same period, something which the new generation of players demand in a big way.
